The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is an international forum that awards fellowships in science to female postgraduate students from developing nations. Its former president, Lydia Makhubu, encouraged young girls to start at the earliest level — primary school — in order to be ready to embark on a career in science.
